Karnataka – New Dawn Rising: Tour News

Here’s some news about the upcoming New Dawn Rising tour from Karnataka.

After a busy time working on the stunning Illuminae album, Dark Horizons, Ian Jones has made the call and gathered the Karnataka clan again. The New Dawn Rising tour will see them head out across the UK showcasing the highlights of their symphonic prog catalogue.

Multiple award winners, their nationwide tour begins in March 2022 featuring founder member and bassist Ian Jones, the beautiful voice of vocalist Sertari, virtuoso keyboard player Gonzalo Carrera, stunning lead guitarist Luke Machin and top UK drummer Chris Allan. Expect classic tracks from past albums and brand-new material.

The band has been confirmed to headline the Friday of the Prog for Peart Festival on July 1st at The Northcourt in Abingdon and will also headline the final day of the Soundle Weekend Festival on Oct 2.

Winning plaudits from Radio 2’s Bob Harris, prog icon Rick Wakeman and many others, Karnataka’s storming live performances have entranced and captivated audiences across the UK, Europe and the USA and seen them perform alongside prestigious artists such as Robert Plant and Steven Wilson.

Add us to the list who rate the band highly, going back to their early days of watching them in venues like the Limelight in Crewe and at the Classic Rock Society.

Check out a personal favourite, Forsaken, and imagine Luke Machin letting rip on the guitar part that begins around 5:00 –
