HEALING VOICES – THE EAGERLY-AWAITED ALBUM

Healing Voices, the forthcoming album from pan-African duo, Esinam & Sibusile Xaba is shaping up to be quite something. Flowing Keep Flowing is the third single to preview the album and it follows hot on the heels of Ready to Love, a song that, just a few weeks ago, we described as “Magical.”

ESINAM & SIBUSILE XABA

To recap: Esinam and Sibulsile have been working together for over two-and-a-half years and Healing Voices, their debut album, is eagerly anticipated. Esinam is of Belgian-Ghanaian descent, whilst Sibulsile’s roots are KwaZuli-Natal South African and the pair’s music blends Afro-Roots-Electro with sprinklings of jazz and funk. In Esinam’s words: “We make music as art, we make music as medicine. The songs [for our album] are created with a strong connection to our soul and the music of our ancestors. When I play this music I feel better. It is a musical collection of rhythms and melodies that touch my heart and soul; sounds of healing voices, musically charged with authenticity and creative inspiration. I am convinced that people will feel this profound good energy.”

Sibulsile adds: “Healing Voices [will] explore freedom and unconditional love as the two primary elements of healing. We hope these sonic gestures touch everyone’s hearts as they listen. The songs came to us effortlessly, demonstrating that the music has its own agenda. We couldn’t help but listen, receive and share with the world. The beauty and depth of the album is full of respect and humility. Every melody is surrounded by good vibes and movements of confidence in every moment of creativity.”

FLOWING KEEP FLOWING

Plucked strings, hooting pipes and Esinam’s anguished vocals set the African scene as Flowing Keep Flowing starts to flow. Both joyous and dreamlike, the song is another wonderful merger of the duo’s diverse musical influences and any listener is bound to be transported into an blissful, trancelike state of mind. The live version of the song, as seen in the video below, is, if anything, even more engaging as the duo and their supporting musicians take the time available to fully explore the grooves the have created.
