Stellvris is a European metal band founded in 2019. In 2022, they released their debut EP called Upside Down followed by their first full-length album called Persistence in 2023. The band is currently working on their second full-length album in collaboration with Christoph Wieczorek of Sawdust Recordings
Nicol Hofman from Stellvris joins us for a quick WIL on Jinjer.
One of the bands that completely blew me away from the very first moment is Jinjer. I first saw them years ago when they were supporting Arch Enemy, and I’ve been following their music ever since. I really love everything they create.
For me, Tatiana is one of my idols – her voice and technique are absolutely insane. I’ve tried to sing their songs myself, and thanks to that, I’ve developed a strong and resilient voice. Imitating her style is definitely a challenge, but it has helped me a lot in our own music and when creating vocal parts for our songs.
A DREAM COME TRUE
A dream come true was two years ago when we played two shows with them in Austria. Standing on the same stage and sharing musical energy with a band I admire so much was an unforgettable experience.
It’s hard to pick a favorite song because they’re all incredible, but the ones I personally love singing are I Speak Astronomy and Pisces – both are technically demanding but so inspiring.
For me, Jinjer aren’t just a band – they’re an inspiration and a teacher. They’ve taught me discipline, technique, and how music can tell a story and evoke emotions. And that’s why I love them.
Thanks to Nicol for the nudge on a band who seem to be heading in the right direction super rapidly.
