AN ALTERNATIVE LIFE

After their successful festival run at Reading, Leeds and TRNSMT and the release of their critically acclaimed album Songs From The Spine the new single from The Royston Club comes partnered with an emotional video staring Freya Parks and directed by James Slater (known for music videos for Blossoms and Sam Fender).

The Cariad video focuses on a young woman working her daily cafe job yet, she daydreams of an alternate version of her life filled with love and intensity. These desires are represented through her expressive and emotional performance – her moves becoming increasingly powerful in the emotionally heightened parts of the song. She dashes through various locations in Beaumaris, a small seaside town in on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales. The sense of place resonates with the story just as much as it does with her personality. 

The Royston Club commented that “Filming the Cariad video in somewhere beautiful like Beaumaris felt like a real testament to the album especially as that’s not only where Cariad was written, but the majority of the record. 

LIVE FROM COASTAL

Their new EP Live From Coastal was recorded late last year at Coastal Sound Studios in Liverpool. It features acoustic and stripped-back versions of some of their songs such as The Patch Where Nothing Grows as well as the emotionally powerful Curses & Spit. We are also treated to two covers – Wichita Lineman  and their own spin off of beabadoobee’s Glue Song which sent fans crazy for an official release after the video release last year.

With these releases, a tour has come alongside it and demand is very high resulting in four additional dates being added all of which are sold out.

As well as this, The Royston Club have been announced as the guests for Two Door Cinema Club at London’s Crystal Palace Park in 2026 – also featuring The Vaccines and James Marriott.
