Celine Cairo – Panacea: Single Review

Upcoming Dutch singer and songwriter Celine Cairo previews her forthcoming fifth album with a sneak preview of the title track. Sit back and enjoy 4+ minutes of mellow, satisfying sophistication…

A GROWING REPUTATION

Dutch singer and songwriter Celine Cairo is an artist with a growing reputation. Her arresting, otherworldly voice has already won her a performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall, a place at Amsterdam’s prestigious Conservatory and slots on Dutch television. And that’s not all; her songs and videos are attracting enviable audiences across social media – over 42 million combined streams in 2025 alone. Celine Cairo is an artists that we’re going to hearing a great deal of.

Celine’s new single, Panacea is the title track of her forthcoming album. The album will be her fifth and it follows Celine’s 2021 offering, Overflow. It’s scheduled for release this coming June.

A SPINE-TINGLING DEPICTION OF LIFE…

Reflecting upon her recent surge in popularity – and looking forward to the release of her album, Celine has this to say: “It’s been crazy! I posted some videos of me playing live and suddenly they were being shared everywhere. It really has been the greatest gift. The timing couldn’t be better for Panacea. I can’t wait to get started all over again.”

Written after returning from a month-long solo trip to Asia, Panacea (the song) has been described as: “…a spine-tingling depiction of life coming into focus.” Celine picks up the story: “I wrote Panacea about coming home after an exceptionally rough time. The song is about landing in the present moment and dissolving the notion that there is a cure for our human condition. So many people are searching for healing, trying to better themselves. Letting go of that quest altogether made me the freest I’ve ever felt.”

WARMTH AND SECURITY

And that sense of freedom is something that pervades Panacea. Celine’s lyrics are hugely reassuring to anyone caught in that directionless dilemma, and the overall feeling they offer is one of warmth and security. The production is excellent, with Celine’s fingerpicked 12-string guitar counterbalanced nicely by India Bourne’s cello, and the sound builds nicely as percussion and synth gently slide their way in. And the nicest thing is that none of of that distracts for one second from that slightly breathy, intense-yet-vulnerable voice that the world is starting to love so much.

Panacea is 4+ minutes of mellow, satisfying, sophistication. Do we REALLY have to wait until June to hear the full album?
