Bruit revisit their past to offer their view of the mysterious and unpredictable nature of modern life.

BRUIT
Bruit’s music is as experiential and as challenging a listen as you will get in the Progressive field. It probably defines what any fan or even non-fan of prog music desires. The two pieces, Bloom and the epic 14 minute Fall, may to the discerning ear, be different in structure but each piece is built of many different parts exploring fluctuations in deftness and power.
Many musicians despair at those who intellectualise their compositions but Bruit unashamedly provide an in house, in depth analysis of their music:
“Life may be elsewhere, at another rhythm, a different scale, and you have forgotten it. Your body hosts a microscopic and elusive world that dies and is reborn every second. It is swarming with particles that will be the cause of your life and your death. It will be your first vertigo. The bloom.“
“Then you look to the sky and realise that this inner world floats in a universe in which the human mind cannot comprehend borders and where you are no more significant than a grain of sand. Energy of unimaginable power has been developing for billions of years and it is also responsible for your life and death. It will be your second vertigo and with it you will fall.
So who are you? Between the infinitely small and the incredibly large. Is your little daily problem still meaningless? Sit down by the vestiges of the monolith erected by your ancestors and take the time to think. Ask new questions rather than repeating old answers.“
Heavy stuff I know, but you are not compelled to agree or even try to understand but if you wish to step aside from looking inwardly and just appreciate the musical magnificence, I don’t think anyone will mind.
A KALEIDOSCOPE OF ASTOUNDING MUSIC
Even as just a pure listening experience it is unavoidable to appreciate the kaleidoscope of astounding sonic experiences. Musical beauty may be defined as in the ‘ear’ of the beholder but the encompassing soundscapes are unavoidably impressive. As the sounds float, swirl, grunge and grind around your head a decent sound system seems requisite to take in the full experience of Bruit’s music.
The multi layered melodies and percussion twist and change from its rawness and melancholic ebb and flow,to offer an you experience of tranquility and brutality within moments from each other. As a reflection of modern day global existence Monolith adequately hits the button as we begin to turn the pages of an uncertain new year not knowing what terrors or pleasures are coming next.
