Hushtones – Whiskey And Winter: New Single and Xmas gig…

Was it only a few months ago when we were hinting that Hushtones’ new album, Greetings From The Other Side, was “music to jump about to” in the Summer of ’21?

Their latest single – Whiskey And Winter – is a calm and thoughtful festive piece which has been released to tie in with their headline Christmas show in Jimmy’s in Liverpool on the 21st December.

The song was written towards the end of the year but the band challenged themselves to get it recorded, mixed, mastered, have artwork created, and get the track sent off to distribution all within 2 days. After 2 long days of work in the studio with world-renowned producer Steve Levine, the song is complete – a sparkly ode to the idea of letting go of past grudges at a time of year when it’s important to come together. The song comes gift wrapped in a suitably Christmassy tune. Plenty of those features you expect to hear in a proper Christmas songs – all acoustic guitars, subtle piano and tuned percussion sprinkles – plus a perfect alternative to those infuriating Frozen cries of “Let it go!!

Whiskey And Winter is available to stream on all platforms. The release will be followed by a home-movie style music video filmed around the Winter Market and festive areas of Liverpool.

Fronted by song-writing powerhouse Martha Goddard and Mick Campbell, alongside Caitlin McPaul on bass and backing vocals, Joe Dillon, guitar and backing vocals, and Abraham Tesfachristos on drums, Hushtones have spent part of 2021 on tour with Red Rum Club, Tim Burgess, Space and have supported She Drew The Gun in their hometown after the release of their debut album Greetings From The Other Side. As BBC Introducing favourites, they have received regular airplay BBC Music & BBC Introducing and had songs out into Spotify editorial playlists “Garden Indie” and “Hot New Bands”.
