Right To Roam Festival 2022: News

Right To Roam Festival returns for the second year, taking over venues in Bolton. The 2021 iteration of the festival featured acts including Beans On Toast, James Holt and IST IST, amongst many others.

Bolton has a rich musical history. From the days of B.I.T. through to the legendary indie club Hawthorns to the ongoing folk club of Over Hulton. Right To Roam is another move in the right direction to bring more music to the town.

Taking place over four venues on Friday 8th July and Saturday 9th July, the festival features plenty of well known acts as well as an array of artists to seek out and discover.

Acts that will be playing showcase a wide array of differing genres.

The whole festival takes place across four venues in Bolton. There is The Alma Inn which is renowned for putting on heavier shows; so you can imagine that you will hear plenty of harder acts in the small surroundings there. It is there that you will find JOHN and Janus Stark.

Over at The Octagon, Bolton’s famous theatre, you will find Will Varley, Lottery Winners, IST IST and local heroes The Jade Assembly. Heavy Salad, Total Victory and the brilliant Bull will be taking the stage at Northern Monkey Brew Tap Room; if you are a fan of craft beers, you will enjoy the drinks on offer!

The final venue is Bar Four which is centrally located in Bolton’s Market Place. Highlights on offer there include Will Edgar and the excellent Ryan Jarvis, who recently headlined his own show at Manchester’s Deaf Institute.

Whilst there are acts who have plenty of experience onstage and have played much larger festivals, it gives opportunity for people to seek out new favourites in amongst the plethora of talent on offer.

Tickets for the event are priced at £20 for adults for the two days, and £10 for concessions. This is an absolutely brilliant price for tickets for so much talent on offer. Bolton is well served by buses and trains and is generally quite easy to get to, so if you fancy a weekend of great music at a great price, Right To Roam could well be for you.

You can buy tickets here and check out the day splits via the festival’s Facebook page, here.
