Annie Keating – UK tour dates announced: News

Hot on the tail of her stunning new album, Hard Frost [Review here], Annie Keating – At The Barrier’s favourite Brooklynite – announces dates for her next UK Tour

She’s just released a fantastic new album and now – to heap a bag of hot anticipation onto an already blazing inferno of musical contentment – Annie Keating (At The Barrier’s favourite Brooklynite) has announced the dates for her forthcoming UK tour. It’s a twelve-date affair that kicks off at Ashcroft Arts Centre, Fareham on Friday 1st September and rolls around England and Scotland for a couple of weeks until the Keating juggernaut grinds to a halt at The John Peel Centre, Stowmarket, a venue with a growing reputation, on Sunday 17th September.

In between, Annie and her band (I’ll get onto THEM in just a mo…) will be visiting popular spots all over the country, including Little Rabbit Barn in Ardleigh, Essex (one of Annie’s favourite venues), ATB faves as The Atkinson in Southport, The Live Room in Saltaire and the wonderful Chapel Arts Centre in Bath. She’s also booked to appear at Septembersong Festival in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, on 15th September. Full details of the tour itinerary are as follows:

1st September: Ashcroft Arts Centre, Fareham, Hampshire

2nd September: Little Rabbit Barn, Ardleigh, Essex

9th September: Filey & Coast Americana Festival, Filey, E. Yorkshire

10th September: The Live Rooms, Saltaire, W. Yorkshire

12th September: Kitchen Garden Cafe, Kings Heath, Birmingham

13th September: What’s Cookin, Bushwood, London E11

14th September: Chapel Arts Centre, Bath

15th September: Septembersong, Abingdon, Oxfordshire

16th September: Eastwell Village Hall, Eastwell, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire

17th September: John Peel Centre, Stowmarket, Suffolk

Annie visited these shores twice during 2022 and we were fortunate enough to catch up with her – and that brilliant touring band – on both occasions [see here for our reviews of Annie’s shows at Bath and Saltaire] and, both times she – and her band – rocked like crazy. She’s bringing the same band – Jamie Dawson on drums, Scott Warman on bass and bass guitar and guitar wunderkind Joe Coombes along with her again and – be in no doubt – these guys are GOOD.

Annie’s new album, Hard Frost, is attracting all sorts of positive attention, and deservedly so – it’s one of the best things I’ve heard all year – and, if you haven’t heard it yet, then I strongly recommend that you address that particular deficiency forthwith. Quite a few of the tracks – Sunshine Parade, Lovesick Blues and the ultimate soother Feels Like Home have already been bothering the airwaves for quite some time, whilst other songs – Looking For Trouble, Wrong Guy’s Girl and the tender, vulnerable, Falling have become staples of Annie’s live set. And just wait until you hear Annie’s latest single, Lies and Dynamite and – hold the front page for this one – her sultry interpretation of Sting’s So Lonely…. Come to the show – you’ll be truly amazed!
