The Magpie Arc – More glamour, more grey: News

Latest update from the ranks of The Magpie Arc.

2022 seemed to be the year of the magpie – or The Magpie Arc; the quintet we titled “a formidable band” and who would disagree with self-confessed former folk-rocker Findlay Napier joined by Nancy Kerr, Alex Hunter and Tom A Wright with Martin Simpson swapping his more familiar acoustic for a fully fledged, plugged in, electric model.

Creating a joyous din from an embarrassment of musical riches within their ranks, we enthused in a similarly joyous fashion over the Glamour In The Grey album, the three preceding EPs and live encounters hopefully being proof of our hope that the unit has legs. And it would seem so…

Following a limited coloured vinyl pressing of 100 units, the album gets a streaming release in July with the band also planning a couple of videos they’ll be shouting about over the next two months in advance of the latest album getting its being streamed on the appropriate digital platforms.

As ever, watch this space for more along the lines of the thundering Don’t Leave The Door Open:

The band is at Sidmouth and FolkEast this year while here they are headlining HOME at the 2022 Manchester Folk Festival:
