Alex Hart – Strangers And Lovers: New Single

The sound of Summer.” Out on 11th August is the new single from Alex Hart., Strangers And Lovers.

The new single finds Alex calling on the talents of one Martin Barre of Jethro Tull – quite some coup, but then she has toured with the legendary guitarist (and all round top gent) in his own band.

We’ve known Alex via her work in the Seth Lakeman band and there’s a certain Lakeman-esque giddy-up in the first few moments as the rhythm gets a hold, that evolves into a warm Latino sway. The quote about the sound of Summer is spot on as the song takes an easy groove as Alex contemplates life’s twists and turns as Martin adds a cool little cameo. Warm and reassuring, it’s another confident teaser of her much anticipated new album.

Recorded at Plymouth’s Momentum Studios and co-written and produced with Josiah J Manning. “I wrote this song in the spring in my home studio. This song is inspired by a couple working through some big issues in their relationship and one of them saying that it doesn’t matter what you’re going through, I’ll still accept you, I’ll still take you as you are,” says Alex. “I wanted to record this song as part of my forthcoming album, Visions. Josiah and I reworked the song together and he added some beautiful parts that have elevated the track in a huge way. This has to be one of the best songs I’ve ever co-written.”

This is the second single prior to the new album Visions is set for release on 20th September and coincides with a tour with Joe Martin:
