Snow Angel is the eagerly-awaited debut album from Renée Rapp. This follows the success from her acting career and the release of her debut single and EP: Everything to Everyone in 2022.
American Superstar Renée Rapp welcomes us to her album with the single Talk Too Much. The track, produced with Alexander 23, is about being self-aware in a relationship and not being afraid to speak the truth. I believe the album encapsulates this wonderfully and the message to listeners is clear. The instrumentation blends with Renée’s voice perfectly and it shows off a different side to her in this new era of hers.
The anticipation has certainly been rising for the countdown to the release of Snow Angel with Renée already having performed promotional shows for the likes of The Today Show in America and earlier this month she announced intimate gigs for November in the UK!
The story continues in the single released with the album announcement. The title track that is- Snow Angel. The lyrics speak for themselves really: “I’ll angel in the snow until I’m worthy. But if it kills me I tried”This is Rapp trying to make the best out of her pain from her relationship and trying to figure out why things didn’t go to plan.
Pretty Girls: Starts off solemn but turns into an upbeat song about being comfortable with your sexuality. Definitely a favourite on the album. The beat is enough to get you moving! “They have a couple drinks, all the pretty girls/So now, they wanna kiss all the pretty girls”
To put a closure on such a beautiful album, Rapp has exceeded on the final song 23. A bittersweet song showing that things are different to what they may seem. It also acknowledges the struggle of getting older and feeling as if people hate you.“Everything looks good on paper/Displayed on the shelf/And nobody thinks they should save her/’Cause she’s doin’ well”
Rapp is currently gearing up for her widely-anticipated Snow Hard Feelings Tour. The EU/UK leg of the Snow Hard Feelings Tour in February 2024 will include stops at iconic venues including London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Make sure to catch her at one of her upcoming shows (info here).
