Mae Muller showcases her talent to the world in her debut album Sorry I’m Late after her incredible Eurovision performance.

Sorry I’m Late is the highly anticipated debut album from Mae Muller. This follows the success from her EP No One Else, Not Even You in 2020 and her spectacular Eurovision performance earlier this year.

The British phenomenon Mae introduces us to her album with the single I Just Came To Dance. The flirty anthem encapsulates the feeling of freedom and spontaneity even when it’s not the best idea. The guitars in this song make this the perfect pop song and definitely is great in a live crowd!

Anticipation has certainly been rising for the countdown to the release of Sorry I’m Late with Mae unironically postponing the release date of the album. She has also already performed intimate record store shows and has been advertised on many billboards across the UK.

The story continues in the apologetic yet liberating anthem Sorry Daniel:

“I’m sorry, Daniel
Life got hard to handle
And it’s all a bit random, I know
I got reasons I could tell you but Daniel
You won’t understand though”

Sorry Daniel explores emotions and problems within a relationship. The lyrics contrast with the overall sound of the song as the song is super upbeat and definitely one to listen out for!

Better Days was the song that kickstarted Mae’s recognition. It is a funk-inspired collaboration with Swedish Producer NEIKED and Rapper Polo GA. An upbeat and feel-good tune; “All I do is sit around and wait for better days.” The track is about love, affection and trust in a relationship and constantly waiting for things to get better.

To put a closure on such a beautiful album, Muller has exceeded on the final song Written By A Woman. An orchestrally organised track that sees things from a woman’s perspective and what is not stereotypically found as attractive can be seen as attractive. Mae herself said because of the openness of the track she felt it was perfect for it to be the closure for the album and I couldn’t agree more.
