Another taster for the upcoming EP release from Thunderous Jones.

It’s.Not.What.You.Wanted – aka I.N.W.Y.W – is the second single ahead of from Thunderous Jones’ upcoming EP, A Heart From Hell which is set for release in Spring 2024.

Prog metal? Shoegaze? Numetal? This track caters to all of the above. Heralded by a claustrophobic intensity, I.N.W.Y.W has abrasive prog metal elements, along side more dreamy nu metal vibes, maybe influenced by the bands that pioneered those genres in the 90’s and early 00’s. 

The lyrics tell a depressing tale of self loathing, bad decisions and regret. Ultimately that the wrong choices and certain vices can lead you to a place you don’t want to be. The screamed opening passage – “I can’t breathe, there’s something wrong inside me now” – sets the tone for a typically urgent four minutes with only the briefest of pauses for respite in the chorus.

The track was released on 23rd February 2024 on all major digital platforms and will kick off a 2024 that looks very promising for the band, currently at work booking shows across the UK.
