Cameron Mackay heads to the heights for an inspired electronic folk mash up.
For fans of the emerging genre of electronic traditional folk, music producer Cameron Mackay offers a fresh house-influenced take with a new single – single Second Wind – that’s released on Friday 22nd March.
Bringing together his two loves of playing for cèilidhs and producing electronic dance music, in Second Wind Cameron merges an original fiddle tune with an array of synths and piano samples, all on top of a vibrant house beat. The video finds him scaling the heights and sending the tune soaring off into the Scottish wilderness in a celebration of the sounds and landscapes of Scotland
Wearing his filmmaker, Cameron wanted to showcase nature in the self-filmed music video for Second Wind, suffering for his art by lugging his fiddle, camera equipment and drone through forests and bogs to the summit of Cruach
Tairbeirt in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park!
Cameron says: “The fiddle tune and production of Second Wind was inspired by exploring wild places in Scotland like
the West Sands beach in St Andrews and forests in Loch Lomond, so it was lovely for this to come across in the video
and incredible artwork by Sophy Louise.”
