There is no holding back with KLEPTOCRACY; climb on, strap in and enjoy the ride!

This album throws you into the middle of the mosh pit and precedes to riot about you thrashing your conscious with ideas of societal imbalance and disparity.  A  no holds barred observation of the corruption and greed within Government and a recognition of the inequality in which we live due to our leaders unethical and self serving behaviour.  It’s a high energy, driving album which will galvanize the rebellious spirit of those actively loathing the abhorrent abuse of power that is rife within our Governmental institutions.  As the band say in the lively track Blood Soaked Shores: “We won’t keep quiet, we’ll fight for our say.”

The musicianship is incredible with a strong, clear and direct vocal delivery throughout. The lead vocals are expressive and emotive. The fiddle adds a flourish to the tracks and keeps the band connected to its folk rock roots. Banjo interjections fire up the spirit with its rolling and dynamic execution. Bass, drums and guitars are solid and powerful keeping the rock spirit of Ferocious Dog alive.

The album opens with Witch Hunt a dancey and rhythmic song which will get you going immediately.  It described the plight of the ancients and their ancient knowledge that disappeared with them. Sus Laws has a more melancholy introduction before leaping to it’s feet to take on the stop and search law which has been used to discriminate against minorities: “more blacks, more dogs, more Irish….they should be welcomed by us all

Of course not all the songs on this album are full pedal to the metal, we have a gentle love song thrown into the mix with A Place We Call Home, talking of “lovers on the streets, sleeping rough, finding warmth when life gets tough.” This song talks of a love story amongst 2 homeless people, again Ferocious Dog comment on the societal issues we are facing.

The definition of Kleptocracy is “a society whose leaders make themselves rich and powerful by stealing from the rest of the people.” I think it’s fair to say that this sentiment is present throughout this album; it’s a rallying and powerful release which fills you with galvanized resolve that, we the people, can fight corruption , greed and equality. We can fight for what’s right.
