News of the next wave of names on the teamsheet for the 2025 Manchester Folk Festival.

The eighth edition of Manchester Folk Festival returns in six monthsโ time.
Taking place across the cityโs Northern Quarter and Ancoats’ best-loved venues over Thursday 20th – Saturday 22nd March 2025, the festival is now considered โa springtime staple for music loversโ (Tradfolk) after moving from its regular October slot. The three-day celebration will bring together the finest contemporary and traditional folk, roots and acoustic music England has to offer, with artists performing at some of Manchesterโs most iconic venues, including Band on the Wall, Hallรฉ St Peters, Night & Day, The Castle, Hallรฉ at St Michaelโs, The Stoller Hall and New Century Hall.
Manchester Folk Festival has now revealed its third wave of acts: Amelia Coburn, 3 Daft Monkeys, Heather Ferrier Trio, Caoilfhionn Rose, Robbie Cavanagh & Lawrence Maxwell, RE:VULVA and Peterโs Field featuring Sean Cooney, Eliza Carthy and Sam Carter.
Tier 2 Festival wristbands are now sold out but Tier 3 wristbands are now on sale! Manchester Folk Festival also release individual concert tickets for March 2025 and announce another wave of artists including 3 Daft Monkeys, Amelia Coburn, Caoilfhionn Rose, Peterโs Field, RE:VULVA and more.
Festival wristband holders will have access to all performances, allowing them to tailor their experience to their tastes, switching effortlessly between intimate spaces and main stages. Wristband perks for 2025 also include access to exclusive concerts, an opening reception and a singing workshop with Jon Boden.






The three-day celebration will bring together the finest contemporary and traditional folk, roots and acoustic music England has to offer, with artists performing at some of Manchesterโs most iconic venues, including Band on the Wall, Hallรฉ St Peters, Night & Day, The Castle, Hallรฉ at St Michaelโs, The Stoller Hall and New Century Hall.
Alongside performances from local Morris dancing sides, various singing workshops and free traditional singarounds and sessions, where musicians gather to play traditional tunes for themselves and listeners, festivalgoers can now book for their ever-popular craft workshops.
On Saturday 22nd March 2025, Nick Vorstermans will present an introduction to the basics of spoon carving, where each participant will come away with their very own green wood handmade spoon. Elsewhere, Ella McIntosh will run a fascinating workshop on the age-old jewellery technique of cuttlefish casting. All materials and tools are provided for each workshop. Each half-day session costs ยฃ60.
Band on the Wall will once again be the bustling festival hub for three days of activity, with emerging folk-influenced artists performing on their bar stage and their lively late-night Festival Club making its much anticipated return
