Ben Hemming releases the fourth single prior to the release of an album set for release in May. It heralds a change in direction as he explores new avenues in Blues music he takes path towards a heavier sound bordering on the satanic.
This is as dark as blues can get with Benโs sombre, hardy vocal approach might be more suited to Doom Metal rather than Blues Rock. โThe song was born from a simple riff. It started as a traditional blues number that morphed into a rock song more in keeping to my recent work,โ says Ben.
It is a sign that he is changing tack with this song which is packed with personal angst and paints a gloomy picture of someone who is not as ease with life whilst searching for release from trauma.
โI read the good book to save my soul, But all I found was trouble and toil , I turned my back on goodness and God, and found another path to trod.โ are lyrics expressing adesperation and the search for peace of mind. The deep twangy guitars and pounding funereal drums supplement the bleak lyrics sung in demonic tones. The contrast between the calmer verses then interrupting into a heavy powerful refrain shows the creativity in Benโs songwriting which you will find stirring and compelling.
His raging for redemption demands your sympathy.
