IF HEAVEN LOOKS A LITTLE LIKE THIS
If Heaven Looks A Little Like This is the debut album from Delights. Putting behind their 2022 mini album, Delights introduce us to their debut album, incorporating hints of funk, soul, psychedelia, disco, indie, and rock. ‘This is the only moment you have your debut album,’ says drummer Leo Willis. ‘So [you can] step outside your comfort zone and experiment’.
Silk Skin opens the album. It is a powerful yet reflective start that blends Adam Maxwell’s raw vocals with the instrumentals. The track begins quite mellow, but picks up the pace and becomes more upbeat.
Two Times Over is a personal favourite. The groovy track makes you want to get up and dance. Blends of strong synths and drumming keep the energy alive. The single was released in May 2024, gaining traction to their album.
‘Does Heaven look a little like this, I’d like to go cause I’d find it too hard to resist.’
The guitar work truly stands out in this song, delivering captivating riffs that evoke the spirit of bands like The 1975 and Blossoms. The track also shares their signature blend of powerful vocals and melodic energy.

AND IT GOES
And It Goes brings an electric energy to the album. They bring a vibrant guitar sound and bouncy rhythms, while still staying loyal to their Mancunian essence, showcasing a fresh evolution in their music. Rooted in classic indie-rock elements, their tracks carry a unique energy that would create an electric atmosphere when experienced live.
Delights conclude their stunning debut album with the track Adore Her. Prominent use of the acoustic guitars symbolise the end of the album. It not only marks the end of Delights’ debut album but it stands up as a real anthem.
If Heaven Looks A Little Like This is an album that blends various genres and themes. It reflects on elements of the past while still maintaining a forward-looking perspective. The melodies are expansive, and the lyrics hold significance.
‘Cause you should know that we’ll figure it out
Cause me and you are never in doubt’
Delights are set to head on their biggest UK tour this February and March to promote their debut album, following their success in supporting the likes of Blossoms and Vistas.
