Valentyne – Hate Me: New Video/Single

Manchester Alt Rock band Valentyne release a new video for Hate Me on…yes…14th February.

Drawing upon the darker side of Royal Blood, Wolf Alice, Radiohead and Deftones, Manchester band Valentyne craft a gloomy, hauntingly beautiful sound and aesthetic of their own.

Made up of George Webster (Guitar), Charlotte Isobel (Vocals), Thomas Webster (Guitar), Emma Taylor (Bass) and Rob Downey (Drums), the group formed deep in the winter of 2023. Their distorted take on alternative rock captures the nostalgia of youth, and lost love, whilst a dark intrigue dwells within, compelling you to dive deeperโ€ฆ if you dare.

2024 saw the band release the singles, Under The Skin and Serenity, as well as earning national radio support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Radio Lancashire and Amazing Radio, an impressive feat for debut offerings. The follow-up single, Hate Me sets a blistering pace. Raw and visceral in itโ€™s delivery, it builds to a heartwrenching climax. Born of the bones of classic Pop-Punk such as Paramore, My Chemical Romance, and Avril Lavigne, Hate Me captures the dark side of a first love.

With thunderous drums, a symphony of wailing guitar, and heartbroken cries of lead singer Charlotte Isobel, Hate Me offers the dare for you to shed any inhibitions and scream the anthemic chorus.

โ€œWe twist each other into something we are not, into someone we never wanted to beโ€ says George of the story behind the track. ย ย ย ย โ€œWhen it becomes too painful to endure, we begin to push away the one we love, giving them reasons to hate you. The fights, cheating, drinking; we push each other until one of us breaks, until one of us can finally let goโ€

Valntyne are all set to launch a local show at Sacred Trinity Church in Salford on 21st March.
