FORTHCOMING 6TH ALBUM

Chasing You is the second taster that Nashville singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Anderson East has unleashed in advance of his forthcoming 6th album. His first for Rounder Records, Worthy is scheduled for release on 30th May. It follows Say I Love You, a song that hit the heady heights of #39 in Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay (AAA) chart just recently.

Anderson East began his career in 2009, when he self-released his debut album, Closing Credits for a Fire. His most recent album was 2021’s Maybe We Never Die. Worthy, the imminent new album is being billed as: “A reintroduction to East, showcasing him as a more confident, commanding and affecting artist“. Co-produced by longtime collaborator Dave Cobb, the album is 10-track collection. “A portrait of the artist and person East has become, surrounding his journey of personal and creative resilience, redemption and transformation.”

CHASING YOU

Chasing You is an enticing appetiser for the album. The song has a beautifully restrained backing, with prominent piano, discrete drums and some nice brass effects, all of which allow the listener to focus upon Anderson’s soulful, heartfelt vocals. Certainly, with lines like: “Could have been forever, could have been last Thursday, could have been a million years ago. All I know is I’ve been chasing you through every lifetime we’ve been through – and I’m not tired of chasing you,” Anderson demonstrates that he has a pretty neat way of putting things.

On the evidence of Chasing You, Worthy sounds like an interesting prospect. Bring it on!
