A six year break from releasing new music has given Hungary’s instrumentally focussed rock group Torsz time to refine and decide the next phase of their musical career.

Otthon is a flavour of new music from Torsz. The end result is a new album, Menedek, to which this atmospheric piece of music contributes. A track which calmly allows your mind to wander and meander through your own imaginary scene. Otthon means ‘at home’ and as such the mood is warm and comforting. The guitar notes protectively waver and float cosily around before an element of menace ensues with colliding chords reaching a climax before returning to the secure tranquil scene of the earlier melodies.
The overall effect is similar to Long Distance Calling and God Is An Astronaut and even in places like The Shadows gone proggy. It is a mouth-watering sample of their forthcoming release in May which for fans of contemplative instrumental rock will be a welcome listen with its exquisite melodies and soothing grandeur.
It is always refreshing to discover new bands so I look forward with relish to hearing further compositions from Soma Balázs on guitar, Dániel Nyitray on bass and Zsombor Lehoczky on drums in the coming months.
