The Thumping Tommys are set to release their third album; The Dealers Blind is their new single.

THE THUMPING TOMMYS
Formed in north London in 2012, The Thumping Tommys play a heady brew of barn-storming, blues-infused Irish, American and English folk music with a twist. They are known on the club and festival circuit all over Europe.
They have played festivals such as Fairport’s Cropredy Convention and shared the stage with some of the biggest names in folk, such as Fairport Convention, Clannad, The Fisherman’s Friends and Show of Hands. They have also played support to artists such as Bryan Adams.
Now in their third incarnation, The Thumping Tommys are set to release their second studio album, ‘The Sharp Turns of Life’.ย
If you’re a fan of lively barn-dancing bluegrass, passionate folk ballads and heart-felt original compositions this album is for you! Equally they explore everything from early jazz to wild electric guitar solos. The Thumping Tommys appeal to a wide range of ages, backgrounds and nationalities. Their new album offers a unique and eclectic genre crossing musical journey.

THE SHARP TURNS OF LIFE
The current line-up consists of Benedict Amadeus Scrivener (vocals, guitar), Matt Redman (banjo, mandolin, accordion, piano, percussion, mandocello + much more), Jennifer Sanin (bass, vocals) and Nathan Mansfield (violin).
Having spent their savings recording the album, they now need your help to release, print physical copies, tour and promote it.
The album consists of twelve new original compositions. Many of these songs will have been heard live if you’ve seen the band recently. There is a music video for the first single ‘The Dealer’s Blind’ which you can watch here.
The Sharp Turns Of Life also contains a full band version of lead singer and songwriter Benedict’s charity song for Ukraine; ‘This Old Town (Won’t Die Alone)’. Originally composed after Benedict played at a refugee hostel in Lviv in 2022, it was released as a solo song and helped raise nearly ยฃ1000 for the hostel. You can read more about that here.
