Damnation Festival complete their bumper 20th anniversary line-up with several new additions to the bill.

LATEST ADDITIONS
As Damnation Festival continues to build up its line-up for the 2025 iteration, the prominent names keep coming. Irish heathen metallers Primordial return for the festivalโs 20th anniversary celebrations. They join the Sunday, November 9, line-up alongside a host of artists who have helped shape the eventโs history over the past two decades
On Primordial, Damnation organiser, Gavin McInally states; “When we settled on the two days this year we wanted to pack the Sunday with as many fan favourites and festival friends as we could fit on three stages and Primordial certainly fit that bill. Having had several memorable performances down the years at Damnation, we look forward to welcoming them to BEC Arena for the first time to mark our 20th anniversary.โ
Adding Primordial is hot on the heels of Raging Speedhorn’s addition. They will perform a fan picked set celebrating with tracks across their discography. This is a particularly poignant booking as they were the band that headlined the first Damnation Festival in 2005.
Another big addition is Devil Sold His Soul. The post-metal stalwarts will perform a special one-off set at this yearโs shindig with music from their first EP, Darkness Prevails, and their masterpiece, A Fragile Hope. It is the first time in 13 years that band will play at Damnation; they return to celebrate the two incredible records at the festivalโs 20th anniversary.

A VARIED LINE UP
Across the weekend, there are a wide array of bands from various different sub genres across the metal continuum. Belgian psychedelic post metallers Psychonaut, UK blackened thrashers Devastator, US shoegazers Zeruel and UK post rock outfit Din of Celestial Birds complete the Damnation 2025 line-up.
Also in the mix are black metallers Wiegedood. They will mark ten years of De Doden Hebben Het Goed performing the trilogy of albums in full at Damantion. In addition, there is the synth-wave of Perturbator and the eschewing grind of Wormrot. Portugal’s Gaerea will be an interesting prospect as their sound moves away from the black metal they were first associated with.
Author & Punisher are set to lay waste to the foundations with the sonic brutality of their industrial electronic/doom/drone. This is set to be one of many standout performances over the weekend. Another band that are going to mess with the senses are the returning Amenra. On their last appearance, they foisted a visceral performance upon the masses.
These brief mentions only scratch the surface of what is on offer. Stay tuned for more looks at the brilliant Damnation 2025 bill. One thing is for sure, Damnation Festival 2025 promises to be a corker. Find previous news pieces on the festival here.
