VULNERABILITY AND OPENNESS IN THE LYRICS
Indie/alternative duo Good Health Good Wealth are keeping momentum high with their latest single โI Forgotโ. After their successful summer igniting crowds from Glastonbury to Truck and opening the 40,000 capacity Chevron Stage at Reading and Leeds Festival only last week, itโs clear the duo arenโt going anywhere anytime soon.
I Forgot takes inspiration from AM- era Arctic Monkeys as the foundations for the unfiltered lyricism from frontman Bruce Breakey. Itโs emotional, raw and vulnerable – a complete change from their previous single โWhite Menโ which highlighted Saturday highs whereas โI Forgotโ highlights the crash into Sunday lows. The track captures the decline in Breakeys mental state as he attempts to counteract the party lifestyle. For me itโs almost as if he is talking into a mirror. Bruce is having to be confrontational with himself no matter how uncomfortable or uneasy it is in order to turn his life around.
Bruce describes the songs as โa hard track to writeโ and how its a song that he keeps โcircling back to as it crops up so often in mine and my friends daily lives as we continue to repeat certain patterns.โ It counteracts their previous single White Men which highlighted Saturday highs whereas I Forgot highlights the crash into Sunday lows.
This is show in the lyrics; โBut I could go out for one,โ which uses dark humour to debate going out or not while also highlighting how easy it is to come off the rails.

THIS TIME NEXT YEAR WE’LL BE MILLIONAIRES…
This Time Next Year Weโll Be Millionaires is the debut album focusing on the highs and lows and somewhat normality of Breakeyโs week. It is due later this year. As well as the album, the duo are set to go on tour kicking off in Leeds and ending in Dublin. Be sure to get your hands on tickets as four of the eight days are completely sold out.
The duo are clearly here to stay whether you like it or not.

I really liked how your review captures the raw, emotional core of *I Forgot* by Good Health Good Wealth โ especially how the lyrics seem to mirror real internal conflict and patterns. The contrast you drew between their earlier โSaturday highsโ vibe and this more introspective tone is sharp and makes me want to listen more carefully. It almost reminds me of how subtle shifts, like a Non Surgical , can make a lasting impact without being dramatic.
Out of curiosity โ when you say the track โcrops up so often in mine and my friendsโ daily lives,โ is there a particular lyric or moment in the song that resonates most with you?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my peice!
The quote that you stated actually came from the artists themselves and nothing to do with me personally – it was them talking about how the track resonates with them!
