Larkin Poe – Bloom Deluxe & Tour: News

Larkin Poe – the GRAMMY award-winning duo of Nashville-based multi-instrumental sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell – celebrate the success of their USA chart-topping album Bloom with a Deluxe Edition featuring An Acoustic Companion Vol II.

AN ACOUSTIC COMPANION

An Acoustic Companion Volume II arrives on all digital and streaming services via Larkin Poe’s own Tricki-Woo Records on 10th October. There will be a limited edition picture disc vinyl pressing and deluxe CD version of the album too, featuring all five new tracks, available on tour and at the official Larkin Poe store. The release is heralded by a new version of Mockingbird (Unplugged). It is a newly recorded rendition of Bloom’s deeply contemplative opener.

MOCKINGBIRD

On Bloom, we thought that it saw Larkin Poe whip up a storm. The vintage sound got a classy polish. We’d expect nothing less.

“We wrote and recorded our album Bloom a whirlwind year and a half ago,” say Larkin Poe. “In the intervening time we’ve carried the songs all across the USA on tour and have gotten to know them in an even deeper and more personal way. Being able to find some stillness in which to reimagine some of our favourite songs from the album has awoken yet another wave in our creative souls and we can’t wait for folks to experience the re-blooming of Bloom.”

The band continue:

“Mockingbird holds a very special place in our hearts, so when we began planning An Acoustic Companion Vol II we knew this vulnerable piece would be the perfect place to start. We recorded it at our new studio, Crosstie Recordings, and there was something about that fresh yet familiar space and the stripped back nature of acoustic instruments that let us tap into a really beautiful intimacy. We didn’t mess with the bones of the song, just took away a little of the shine from the original and leaned deeply into simplicity. We found ourselves connecting with the song in a whole new way, kinda like sitting down with an old friend and realising the conversation still has a new thing or two to teach you.”

FORTHCOMING TOUR

Long hailed as one of the hardest working acts on the road today, Larkin Poe bring their Bloom Tour 2025 to the UK this autumn with special guest Son Little. They follow these dates with headline dates in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain and Belgium.

We imagine that some of the acoustic takes of songs from Bloom will see inclusion on their forthcoming tour. The UK dates this October are:

Fri 17 – MANCHESTER Academy
Sat 18 – GLASGOW O2 Academy
Sun 19 – BRISTOL Beacon
Tue 21 – LONDON Eventim Apollo
Wed 22 – BIRMINGHAM O2 Institute

Tickets are available here.

ACCOLADES

Larkin Poe were recently nominated for Duo / Group Of The Year at the American Music Awards & Honors in Nashville, having previously won the prestigious award last year. They also received their first career GRAMMY Award by winning Best Contemporary Blues Album for their sixth studio album Blood Harmony in 2023.

Bloom immediately proved to be another landmark work from Larkin Poe, receiving critical acclaim from press outlets such as Rolling Stone, SPIN, Billboard, Forbes, Uncut, Guitar World, Classic Rock, Premier Guitar and Clash as well as a memorable appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“Bloom is about finding yourself amidst the noise of the world,” says Rebecca. “About wholeheartedly embracing the flaws and idiosyncrasies that make us real. In one way or another, pretty much al of the songs on this album are about finding yourself, knowing yourself, and separating the truth of who you are from societal expectations.”
