Folk Pop duo, Non Talkers fuse a blend of indie, folk, and rock, on a canvas painted with the distinct timbres of two captivating voices. They come influenced by the rugged echoes of Tom Waits and the poetic lyricism of Stevie Nicks, with their combined vocal dynamics creating a musical synergy that is both haunting and inspiring.
Their discography, includes the deeply introspective Roots, where a lyrical vulnerability invites listeners into a world of raw and unmasked emotions. The band’s performances are often described as intense and intimate and go beyond mere concerts; they are transformative experiences where each note is a brushstroke on the canvas of shared feelings.
Marco and Evita join us to share their admiration for Jack Savoretti.

MUSICAL LANDSCAPES
As a duo, we (Marco and Evita from Non Talkers) often find ourselves drawn to very different musical landscapes. Our individual tastes are wide apart, and that tension is part of what shapes our sound. But every now and then, we stumble upon an artist who speaks directly to both of us, who bridges our musical worlds and gives us common ground. For us, one of those rare artists is Jack Savoretti.
What struck us first, and still strikes us every time, is his voice. Itโs rough and raspy, yes, but it also carries a deep sensitivity thatโs rare to find in singers with that timbre. Think of Joe Cocker or James Morrisonโboth powerful and unique in their own rightโbut often leaning more on the grit than on the vulnerability. Jack, however, seems to embody both at once. Thereโs this beautiful paradox: a rawness that makes you believe every word, and at the same time, a tenderness that makes you feel the weight of every emotion. Hearing him stripped back in acoustic form is an experience of intimacy, while his more expansive pop productions prove that same voice can command and uplift a stadium.
BEYOND THE VOICE
Beyond the voice, what makes us admire him even more is the journey heโs walked as an artist. Heโs battled his way through the industry, often on the independent side, carving out a path through sheer perseverance, dedication and belief in his talent. Thereโs something in that resilience that resonates strongly with us as independent musicians. Itโs a reminder that music is not only about talent, but about stamina, heart, and never letting go of your truth. Add to that his natural humility and warmth โ qualities that shine through in every performance and interview โ and you get the sense of a pure talent, untainted by ego, devoted only to the music.
THE SONGS
The songs themselves have played a huge role in our connection with him. One of the very first tracks that truly moved us was Changes โ it felt like a doorway into his world, with all its lyrical honesty and melodic sincerity. Then came Breaking The Rules, particularly a live version we stumbled upon, where Jack pours every ounce of himself into the performance. Itโs the kind of delivery that doesnโt just entertain; it pulls you into an emotional space, making you feel part of the story unfolding. And then thereโs his collaboration with Violetta Zironi, a simple folk song that carries so much raw feeling. In its simplicity, it demonstrates Jackโs gift for making a song breathe, for proving that music doesnโt need excess โ only truth.
As artists ourselves, weโve learned a lot from watching and listening to Jack. He reminds us that the most important ingredient is sincerity: whether youโre playing in a living room, a small cafรฉ, or standing before thousands, the heart you put into each note is what people remember. He inspires us to push through our doubts, to stay true to the music we want to make, and to carry our story with as much honesty as possible.
MORE THAN…
Jack Savoretti is more than just a singer-songwriter we admire. He is a mirror of what music can be when itโs lived with passion, humility, and relentless dedication. For us, he is proof that songs can still be both delicate and powerful, both intimate and universal.
And just as Jackโs music has inspired us, we hope our own songs might one day do the same for someone else. If youโd like to take a glimpse into our world, here’s a starter with Weight Of Doubt:
