Alongside ambitious live plans, Harry Styles releases pulsing new track Aperture.

After a very long 4 years, he’s back!

If you don’t know who we’re talking about, it’s the one and only Harry Styles. After subtly teasing his return over the last month, we were treated with the first single off his new album KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO OCCASIONALLY. 

APERTURE

Aperture is the lead single on Style’s new album and its paving a new path for him, in the best way possible. Steering away from the synth-pop,  metronomic feel of his previous album Harrys House, Aperture is just the beginning of a new era for Harry Styles, with fans praising him for “doing something a little bit different.”

Opening with a minimalist electronic pulse, it builds as the track goes on, incorporating layers of electronic textures, gentle guitar and slurring vocals. It’s an ideal song for shouting in a stadium this summer.  The chorus “We belong together” is the key section. It heavily reminds me of Harry’s Treat People With Kindness making it seem as if Aperture is almost the grown-up big sister of Treat People With Kindness, mixed with an LCD Soundsystem-lite vibe. We also have to address the amazing backing vocals from Wolf Alice lead singer Ellie Rowsell and House Gospel Choir who really complete the track with their insane vocals. It’s Styles in a way we haven’t seen him before.

Aswell as dropping the lead single, we can expect an album and a world tour – check the website for details of tour plans. while the album KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO OCCASIONALLY. is due to drop on 6th March with a long awaited world tour coming only a month after that. With shows in Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, Melbourne, Sydney and his 30 night residency at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York, fans are beyond excited to sing their hearts out again. For London dates, tickets go on sale from the 26th January from 11am so be prepared to combat the Ticketmaster war.
