McFly w/ Twin Atlantic & Remember Monday – The Piece Hall, Halifax: Live Review

McFly w/ Twin Atlantic & Remember Monday – The Piece Hall, Halifax – 23rd June 2026

REMEMBER MONDAY

Remember Monday started the show with a really fun set. I didnโ€™t know what to expect, but they remind me of some of the 90s girl bands with a showgirl musical twist. Their cover of ABBAโ€™s Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) was fun and they had some great original songs and lots of fans in the crowd.

TWIN ATLANTIC

Twin Atlantic were heavier than I expected, yet the resulting hit song Heart And Soul got everyone ready to rock with McFly.

MCFLY

On one of the hottest days of the year, McFly made performing like true rock stars look easy. The show was one of the best I have ever seen purely for how much energy the band and the crowd gave all night. I think any non-fan could go to a McFly show and still have one of the best nights.ย

The whole show was like a singalong party! McFly have been putting out music for 23 years, so most of their songs are well known by everyone with all those years of airtime. They played Room On The 3rd Floor which Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, who are both lead guitar and vocals, wrote 24 years ago before meeting bassist Dougie Poynter and drummer Harry Judd and forming the band.ย

Most of their songs are high energy, but they did play a few ballads like the gorgeous song Tom wrote for his wife Giovanna, All About You and Obviously. Those were beautiful arm-in-arm singing moments from the crowd, including myselfโ€ฆ OK, I stood alone making notes, but I couldnโ€™t help but enjoy a sing-along moment too.ย

The band did a fun medley of Everybody Knows / Livin’ On A Prayer / Pink Pony Club / Three Lions / What Makes You Beautiful / I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) / Radio Ga Ga / Twist and Shout. The whole venue was dancing, including the staff. Everyone was having the time of their lives.

moustache MOCKERY

I highly praise The Piece Hall for having an interpreter at every show. The band were mocking Tom for his moustache and the fact that he had carrots stuck in it when he was eating his dressing room lunch of carrots and hummus earlier. Danny joked with the interpreter, and we all learned the sign for โ€˜moustacheโ€™.

McFly play heavier music than I think people give them credit for! Tom can shred his guitar and could easily go head to head in a riff-off and Danny has an incredibly powerful rock vocal.ย  You could hear screams of excitement down Dannyโ€™s microphone as he headed down to the barrier during the song Red.ย

It was such a fun show, everyone danced the night away, and someone near me was even doing the worm! It was one of the most fun concerts I have ever been to. The band gave it their all and so did the crowd.

I literally had the best fun last night reviewing the McFly show at The Piece Hall. The venue has become my home for the summer, and Iโ€™m here for it, as itโ€™s so beautiful and the staff are so lovely. The crowd last night was the happiest I have ever seen. I knew a McFly show would be fun, but I was blown away by just how fun it was.ย
