Tramlines 2026: Festival Review

Tramlines – Hillsborough Park, Sheffield – 24th-26th July 2026

Tramlines 2026, what a weekend!

FRIDAY

Friday was full force from start to finish. I made it down to the pit for The Clause , who I had recently photographed at The Piece Hall, so I knew they were going to be a crowd pleaser, and they were; their hit song Tell Me What You Want went off! The Coral were fun, and The Vaccines and Kaiser Chiefs brought in massive crowds ready for Fatboy Slim, who, of course, made Friday night the party it was with his mash-up of hit songs in the Fatboy Slim style we know and love. I managed to get up to T’Other Stage, where The K’s were headlining, which was also going off! The tent was rammed; I could barely get into the pit to grab a few snaps.

SATURDAY

Saturday was my favourite day! The Leadmill Studio Orchestra opened the main stage, and Everly Pregnant Brothers brought a uke filled singalong humour everyone’s Saturday. Freddie Halkon gave a lively set, and Rick Astley is always a great value crowd pleaser.

Stockport heroes, Blossoms were a personal highlight of the festival, being one of my favourite bands. Their set was incredible from start to finish, bringing out Rick Astley for their new song Joke About Divorce from their album Songs From The Wedding Cake which is out later this year. Of course, I don’t need to tell you how amazing The Courteeners set was! They always fill a crowd and get people on shoulders. Everyone feels 19 again at a Courteeners gig jumping around singing along to all the Northern anthems.

SUNDAY

Sunday, the final day of the festival, had a great lineup to close the festival. Great fun with the omnipresent The Lottery Winners as special guests. They always have me in stitches in the pit. Thom forgot his words, broke his mic, and gave the Hotdog stand a review on stage. It was pure and utter carnage, but we wouldn’t want it another way. I sat down for an interview with Thom and Kate from the band after their show, which was just as chaotic as their show, but I take half the blame as I was just as bad having a laugh.

The Royston Club’s set was packed out at T’Other stage, and Reverend And The Makers had the crowd singing through out their set. Wet Leg gave such a performance that was so mesmerising to watch. I loved photographing their set. Wolf Alice closed the festival with an incredible set. Musically, I think Wolf Alice tickles anyone’s music taste. I was blown away by their lead singer’s ability to sing such beautiful, delicate songs and then give the hardest rock vocals.

ELSEWHERE…

I did manage to get to the Leadmill Stage and T’Other Stage to shoot a few shows, but for me, the Main Stage had such a good lineup I spent most of my time there. Photographing Blossoms was the highlight of my career so far, and of course, getting to chat with The Lottery Winners was so much fun.

As a photographer, Tramlines Festival was the best festival I’ve photographed to date. The Tramlines team were so accommodating and looked after the press team like family. The festival itself had such a good lineup and was on such a good site. The press area was luxurious with tea and coffee on tap (which, trust me, as a photographer, we need copious amounts of). I made so many new friends over the weekend and got to photograph alongside so many photographers I had shared a pit with over the last nine months of my career.

I can’t wait for Tramlines 2027 as I know it will be an epic line-up, and being in the press area was so much fun. Thank you to all the wonderful people I met at Tramlines and special mentions to Alfie, James, Alex, Nicola, and Katy for looking after me and making me feel like part of the Tramlines family from the moment I arrived at the festival.
