He’s on a roll. The new single from Matt Fryers sees daylight.

POWERFUL IMAGERY
Daylight is the second taster from Matt Fryers’ forthcoming album That Was Then that explores defining moments and emotional turning points throughout his life.
In keeping with the introspective theme of the first single One Hand To The Gods, Daylight shifts the focus from escape to examine the extraordinary hidden scale and impact of our most fleeting and forgotten moments. Once again, the song is built around Matt’s carefully crafted acoustic guitar and offers further evidence of Matt Fryers’ hard earned reputation for digging deep into emotionally charged songwriting. The acoustic format so well suited to convey the power of the lyrical imagery.
Built around evocative acoustic guitar which opens with an almost pastoral Genesis 12 string / light Medieval lilt, yet combined with the sort of absorbing vocal delivery that is the Fryers signature as he delivers a lyric that invites listeners to look again at emotions most of us experience every day, yet rarely stop to examine. The contrast lies bold and stark between the insightful lyrics and the unanticipated musical arrangements. Matt channels delicate moments, and challenges listeners to reconsider the seemingly harmless but impactful split-second emotional reactions we so often overlook.
THE IMPACT OF TINY MOMENTS
“Daylight came from thinking about those tiny moments we all experience but never really acknowledge,” says Matt. “Those flashes of emotion that disappear before we even noticed they’d arrived. We dismiss them because they’re over in an instant, forgotten before they even truly leave our minds, but if you slow them down, there’s actually an
incredibly disturbing amount of force inside them.“
Daylight is available on all major streaming platforms now.
