John has been a music obsessive since he first heard 'Love Me Do' seeping out of the family radio in 1962. he spent a career in the rail industry before turning back to his first love of music. He plays bass guitar and melodeon, loves folk/rock and lives in Warwick.
Ian Carr may, or may not be instantly recognisable. He’s been around a long time, has appeared on over 40 albums and has worked with many familiar names. His second solo album is a belter!
“a most enjoyable piece of work, highly recommended” comes the verdict of our Fairport aficionado John Barlass on the latest Fairport Convention studio work, Shuffle & Go.
We take another trip into the time tunnel as John Barlass recollects his trips to Buxton and the Buxton Festivals of 1973 and 1974. Enjoy tales of Party Four cans, negligible use of polythene sheets, a lot of rain, and lots of great music.
At The Barrier writer, John, is a devotee of the man and the many guises and talents of Mr Neil James Innes. Please enjoy, not an obituary, but a personal celebration of one of England’s finest performers.
