James Holt will release Pendulum on 15th May.
Last year we caught James Holt live in Manchester at The Deaf Institute (review here). It’s safe to say that we were more than impressed.
On this lively, upbeat foot-tapper of a single we are re-introduced to the versatile voice and instrumental prowess of the talented James Holt.
Described by The Coral’s James Skelly as ‘Scott Walker backed by the Echo and the Bunnymen,’ Pendulum shows Holt’s octave ranging voice is more reminiscent of a very much on form John Lennon.
Despite the bouncy cheerful sounding melody the song is a story of seeking revenge after a vicious cruel and fatal attack on a loved one.“In one fell swoop I can call myself a widow, there is a debt that must be paid,” he sings. Be sure to look forward to hearing more from the multi- instrumentalist James.
Pendulum was produced by James Skelly with Chris Taylor mixing the single.
In anticipation of Pendulum, have a listen to James Holt’s single, Little Green Light, which was released in October 2019.
