News: Cue Dot Records launches and announces first release

Cue Dot Records is a newly established record label from Paul Scott (Lippy Kid), based in Derbyshire with a focus on music that carries Electronic influences at its heart. But rather than consider this a typical record label, it’s probably more helpful to consider it an electronic music project. A label with a single release, with an ever evolving narrative.

Each release will have its own unique artwork, but it will be constrained as being based on a simple Circle Pack design. The uniqueness achieved by having a specific “cue id” and the shading of the circles within the circle pack.

The aim of the circle pack design is to represent a series of cue dots, with the opportunity for shading/bespoking representing the infinite possibilities opened up through an electronic palette. It is something that will be a very specific identifier of the project and label.

Cue Dot Records is a strictly Not For Profit label. It’s also important that, in an age of restricted arts budgets and grants, the additional aim is that there should be NO cost for the contributing artist to collaborate on the Cue Dot Series, over and above the costs of the production of the music.

Any profit share will be put back into the label in order to support other artists. What the artist chooses to do with their share is entirely for them.

The primary aim of Cue Dot Records is to provide an artist platform, but also to be an ongoing ever evolving electronic music project “The Cue Dot Series”. All releases will be made exclusively on the Cue Dot Records Bandcamp page and supported by a very limited number of physical copies of the album.
