We often refer to Brooklyn singer/songwriter Annie Keating as “Our favourite Brooklynite.” We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be seeing more of Annie in 2023 – a new album is in the pipeline, and a tour is being planned…

Brooklyn singer/songwriter Annie Keating is no stranger to these pages. In fact, it’s fair to say that we’re true devotees of Annie’s particular brand of gritty Americana., And we’re not alone – her music has drawn favourable comparisons to the work of such names as Gillian Welch, Bonnie Raitt and Lucinda Williams – comparisons which we heartily underwrite. And, over the past couple of years, we’ve been able to feast ourselves on some great music – on album and in concert – from Annie. Personally, I rated Annie’s June 2021 album, Bristol County Tides, as my No.1 album of that year and, in 2022, live shows at Bath and Saltaire left At The Barrier speechless. And the great news is that Annie is now enticing us all with the promise of more to come in 2023.
The details are maybe a bit sketchy at the moment, but the word is that Annie’s new album – as yet untitled – is now locked down and, whilst the release date is yet to be announced, Annie is already taking advanced orders. Annie previewed quite a few new songs during those live shows that we enjoyed so much and, over the past 12 months or so, we’ve been drip-fed a string of excellent singles It’s not unreasonable for us to expect that the new album will include at least some of these recent gems – Feels Like Home, Looking For Trouble, Lovesick Blues or Sunshine Parade all seem like strong candidates to me, and the new album is certain to be another corker!
Annie is offering a range of packages to anyone who’d like to get a foot in the door, and these range from a signed CD to a chance to having your name enshrined for posterity in the album’s liner notes! A full explanation of what’s on offer, plus the opportunity to place those advance orders is available here. Alternatively, if you’d prefer, you can contact Annie directly on info@anniekeating.com.
And, as if all that isn’t enough, Annie has confirmed that plans are well underway for a UK tour in September 2023. You can bet that, as soon as the tour dates are confirmed, we’ll be sharing them in these pages, and we’ll be making our own plans to get out and about for another helping of Live Annie. I can’t recommend strongly enough that you start thinking about doing likewise.
