Stage Door Guy – Beach Party: Video Premiere

Punk blues entertainers Stage Door Guy invite you to celebrate summer time with a party of the mind.

Not everyone is comfortable on a beach. The image of happy, tanned people enjoying the Sun can be daunting to those who cower from its cruel rays. However, in a beach party of the mind, we can all come together in our own way, no matter who you are or where you are. Stage Door Guy invites you to their beach party.

Manchester lad Adam Brody is set to release his third collection in cahoots with his fellow Stage Door Guy, CJ Williams (also of Jimmy Regal & The Royals – and we know all about them having just covered their First & Last Stop album). In true Stage Door Style, the album will be released on 22nd December with the suitably seasonal title of Beach Party.

We’re stoked to present the video premiere of the title track.

The video supporting the track was directed by frequent collaborator, and rising film maker Sergio Angot. The track was produced by Jono Podmore.

Born in the Crumpsall district of Manchester, Brody found his way to Stage Door Guy via the world of spoken word. Part of the Contact Young Actors’ Company in Manchester, he was initially inspired to write and perform by his hero Lemn Sissay. Adam started at the city’s famous ‘Speakeasy’ nights at The Green Room. He moved to London and Stage Door Guy was formed after he had spent too many years working in a coffin-shaped stage door kiosk at a theatre in the West End.

The latest album is produced by another Manchester figure, seasoned musician and producer Colin Thorpe (A Guy Called Gerald, Chapter & The Verse etc), with two tracks helmed by Jono Podmore (Jaki Liebzeit, Irmin Schmidt, Kumo, Metamono) who also mastered the collection. Meanwhile, you can check out our review of the Wroclaw album.

Stage Door Guy launch the single (and exclusive first crop of CDs for attendees only) on 2nd September at The Old Library, 116-118 New Cross Rd, London SE14 5BA
