Monobloc – Where Is My Garden: Single Review

Monobloc continue to tread their path upwards with the introspective new single, Where Is My Garden.

Monobloc

Brooklynโ€™s freshest five-piece band Monobloc are one to watch out for. Beginning the year having released their debut single โ€˜Iโ€™m Just Trying to Love Youโ€™, the band continue on the rise with their newest single release โ€˜Where is My Gardenโ€™.

โ€˜Where is My Gardenโ€™ uncovers nostalgic vocals from Timothy Waldron and detailed instrumentation from Zack Pockrose on drums, Michael Silverglade on bass and guitarists Ben Scofield and Nina Lรผders. Bassist Silverglade said, “I wrote the guitar riff years ago, long before Monobloc was even a thing.โ€

The melody is timeless and is not complete without the precise guitar work. The track is comparable to other musical legends such as Springsteen, Inhaler and The Killers.

The lyrics explore a sense of disillusionment and life in a big city:

Where is my garden?
Where are my friends?
Will it always feel like
The end?

The music video was also self-directed by the band in their own garden, not only linking to the song but also to their debut singleโ€™s music video. Both music videos are minimalist and capture the songโ€™s meanings perfectly and allow listeners to fully immerse themselves with the sound of Monobloc.

Monobloc have a busy schedule ahead of them, debuting at festivals worldwide such as the iconic Corona Capital, Rock en Seine and All Points East.
