The Clause w/ The Cases – Hangar 34, Liverpool: Live Review

Birmingham indie rockers The Clause head to Liverpool as they near the end of their 2025/26 tour. Support comes from up and coming Preston band, The Cases.

THE CASES

The Cases, from Preston, get the crowd going before they even began to play. Fans chant for the band while Harry, Will, James and Matt take to the stage. The band debuted a new track, driven by heavy guitar riffs and a rocky beat. Their 2022 debut single: Maybe, had the audience singing every word back to them making it a clear โ€œwe made itโ€ moment.

Liverpool is also first to hear the track Donโ€™t Lose Your Nerve, with frontman Harry Hornsbyโ€™s infectious energy getting the crowd clapping along. Closing with Where Is It (That You Wanna Go), The Cases started the first of many mosh pits of the evening and proved themselves as ones to watch for fans of upbeat indie rock.

THE CLAUSE

The Clause were in their element in Liverpool, heading to Hangar 34 following the release of their debut album, Victim Of A Casual Thing (our review here).ย Soundtracked to Morning Glory by Oasis, the band strutted on the stage with style, the crowd going crazy.

Nothingโ€™s As It Seems opens the show; the ideal track to get the party started. Fans bounce to Pearce Maccaโ€™s vocals, backed by Jonny Fyffeโ€™s driving bass lines. From there, the showโ€™s atmosphere only intensified. Tell Me What You Want had mosh pits breaking out before the vocals came in. The venue turned into a sea of jumping fans.

The Clause has something for everyone to enjoy listening to. The song White Lifelines was reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys and stood out under the spotlights, with a mosh-pit filling the venue. Electric follows, and both the band and crowd fully live up to the songโ€™s title, making sure the energy stays high.

Exception was what frontman Pearce labelled as the bandโ€™s โ€œmost vulnerable trackโ€, due to โ€œthe blend of different music tastesโ€. However, fans did not disappoint and showed their admiration for the track with arms waving and people on shoulders. This track showed Pearce and Jonnyโ€™s vocals blending seamlessly, making it a standout moment of the night.

PARTY STARTERS…

A personal highlight of the evening was a surprise rendition of Pump Up The Jam, which then blended into I Donโ€™t Care, which got the crowd dancing. The lights glowed down on the fans, creating the perfect atmosphere.

When you thought the crowd couldnโ€™t get more energetic, Elisha and Fever Dream prove otherwise. Fan-favourite Elisha had energy flowing through the crowd and Fever Dream had the crowd chanting โ€œooooh none of it will ever make sense to meโ€ under a yellow glow.ย

The set slows for more reflective moments with tracks like Donโ€™t Blink and Where Are You Now? Where Are You Now is an acoustic moment creating a personal connection between the band and the fans with the crowd singing back every lyric. Delicate guitar playing from Liam Deakin tops off the song and is met with huge applause.

The Clauseโ€™s set wouldnโ€™t be complete without closing with In My Element. The track was re-released on the bands debut album after losing rights to the track. Fans went above and beyond one last time, accompanied by red and blue flashing lights and the bandโ€™s effortless sound.

The Clause brought the party to Liverpool and left the crowd feeling like true Weekend Millionaires.
