Gitcha Records introduce us to singles from three excellent bands which are all due to release albums late in October.

HEAVY DIAMOND RING – What If I Change
Thereโs a special warmth which exudes from Heavy Diamond Ringโs single What If I Change from their forthcoming EP Let Love Be Enough, which will be released digitally and on CD via Gitcha Records on 16th October, 2026.
As guitarist and songwriter Paul DeHaven say: โWhat can you do to deserve love? How do you keep from losing it? Will the people we become still have need or desire for one another as the years move on?
Sarah Andersonโs silky smooth vocals and Paul Dehavenโs guitar combine for this uplifting, heart-warming song which yearns for a loving relationship to be prolonged even if changes come. The gentle harmony between vocals and guitars are accentuated by the shuffly percussion from Orion Tate and subtle bass of Blake Stepan. This is music to savour and wallow in to revive your spirit during any itchy moments.
KENDAL STREET COMPANY – My Captain/ Donโt Wanna Be Gone
The prolific writing unit that makes up the good-time band Kendall Street Company have come up with two mouth watering gems to whet our appetites for their new album Yodelling Astroman which will be released on Vinyl & CD by Gitcha Records on 23rd October, 2026.
My Captain has elements of experimental 60โs rock blended with tones of The Decemberists and the quirky jazzy moments created by Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. We all know how the best laid plans can go pear-shaped and after reading Herman Melvilleโs great-American novel Moby Dick, guitarist Ben Laderberg was โfelt inspired by the concept of a mutilated sea captain that has lost his marbles in the name of revenge.โ
Donโt Wanna Be Goneโs repetitive but catchy guitar riff holds together this cheery foot tapping tune. The theme of seeking a simple life replicates the minimalistic melody but is nonetheless extremely entertaining. Both songs display not only their broad musical influences but also their versatile musicianship.
REDD AND PAPER FLOWERS- Shower Thoughts
Serene front porch music is evoked on this melancholic tune. If it were a stick of seaside rock it would have Appallachian Mountains written right through it. Delightful mandolin runs strongly through it too. Shower Thoughts sings of coping with loss yet still maintaining everyday life and would bring comfort at least to those experiencing this to know you are not alone. A weary violin accompanies the harmonies that show a closeness between the group members who lean heavily on their bluegrass folky roots. Almost like a visiting clergyman in times of trauma itโs soothing, consoling vibe offers reassurance and solace.
Gitcha Records release Redd & The Paper Flowersโ upcoming album, Dead Little Thing, on Vinyl & CD on 23rd October.
