Alongside headliners Bear’s Den and Kate Rusby, the line up for Folk By The Oak 2025 continues to grow with new additions.

Hertfordshire festival Folk By The Oak started the year with some excellent news for live music fans. Iinternationally renowned folk-rock band Bearโ€™s Den to headline its Main Stage on Sunday 20th July. A rare UK festival set by the artists whose European March tour sold out in rapid time.

โ€œWeโ€™ve long been fans of the brilliant Bearโ€™s Den, renowned for their uplifting and emotive live shows,โ€ says Festival Director Adam Slough โ€œand canโ€™t wait to dance the festival to a close with them at Folk by the Oak 2025!โ€

TWO STAGE FLIP FLOPPING…

With many more performers yet to be revealed, 2025 is already shaping up to be another stand-out year for the festival. For anyone who hasn’t yet enjoyed a day at Folk By The Oak, thereโ€™s more good news. Their unique schedule of โ€˜flip-floppingโ€™ between their two stages means you can enjoy every single set. With Kate Rusby and Fishermanโ€™s Friends already announced you wonโ€™t want to miss a single performance at this one of a kind, one-day festival.

Also announced for the Main Stage are leading lights of English folk Melrose Quartet in an intriguing new guise. Digging into the musical collections of Englandโ€™s county archives, Music, Heritage, Place is a brand new project co-directed by multi BBC award-winning Nancy Kerr. She will perform the results with her hugely talented band mates James Fagan, Jess Arrowsmith and Richard Arrowsmith.

The two most recent additions see a musician well known to us here at ATB is the powerhouse that is Grace Petrie. Long renowned for her razor sharp lyricism and the joyful, welcoming nature of her stunning live shows, Petrie smashed the UK charts with latest album Build Something Better. Produced by Frank Turner, it’s packed with full-hearted modern folk anthems. The album shot to the top of both the folk and the UK download chart, cementing her status as one of Britainโ€™s most beloved songwriters.

Providing a closing set on the Acorn stage is the energised Scottish neo-trad trio Project Smok for the closing set. Project Smok skillfully unite the Celtic folk tradition with electro dance music creating a unique, refreshing and irresistible sound!
